Accounts Receivable Clerk (Albuquerque, NM)
Job Title: Accounts Receivable Clerk
Reports To: Branch Manager
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Supervisory Responsibility: No
Employment Type: Full-time
Travel Requirements: Up to 10%
Schedule: Monday-Friday, with flexibility for weekends as needed; (Typical working hours M-F 8:30a-5:00p)
Pay Range: $17-21/hour (Actual compensation will be based on experience, skills, and qualifications in line with company pay practices)
Job Summary: The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing customer accounts, processing payments, and ensuring accurate and timely posting of receivables. This role supports the company’s cash flow by maintaining organized records, reconciling accounts, and assisting customers with billing questions. The position works closely with the accounting and operations teams to resolve discrepancies, support daily transactions, and uphold strong customer relationships.
Duties/ Responsibilities
- Help customers on the phone with accounting issues or concerns
- Resolve billing discrepancies and answer customer questions related to invoicing
- Process invoices and payments from drivers daily
- Process will call orders and payments
- Reconcile and apply payments received daily
- Collections of delinquent customer accounts
- Prepare accurate monthly statements for net customers
- Sort and file customer files
- Support audit requests by providing AR-related documentation
- Assist other department on accounting issues or questions.
- Other duties assigned.
- Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related programs.
- Must be able to learn other accounting software systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
- High school diploma required;
Business or Accounting degree preferred. - Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, SAP, Oracle, Net Suite) and Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Integrity and confidentiality in handling financial information.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to traverse and access all areas of the warehouse.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, or crouch for extended periods
- Exposure to warehouse environment conditions (noise, dust, moving equipment, temperature fluctuations)
