Job Overview

Senior Cost Accountant – responsible for driving financial accuracy, operational insights, and process improvements in a dynamic advanced manufacturing environment.

Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year

• Lead project accounting activities, including revenue and cost recognition.
• Monitor and reconcile contract assets, liabilities, and customer backlog.
• Manage inventory accounting and cost of sales reporting.
• Support forecasting efforts through Estimate at Completion (EAC) reviews.
• Analyze customer contracts and apply ASC 606 accounting guidance.
• Create and maintain project structures and charge codes within the ERP system.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Develop and document accounting procedures to support compliance and internal controls.
• Investigate discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
• Champion process improvements that increase efficiency and reporting accuracy.

• 5+ years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong ERP experience and proficiency with Excel.
• Background in project accounting, inventory accounting, or revenue recognition.
• Experience supporting operational teams with financial analysis and decision‑making.
• Excellent analytical skills with a proactive, solution‑oriented mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem solving.
