Tax Manager

Overview

Baker Tilly is a leading advisory, tax and assurance firm with offices across the U.S. and globally. The Albuquerque office offers tax and business advisory services to middle‑market clients.

• Lead client engagements as a trusted advisor, providing tax, accounting, and advisory services to middle‑market businesses.
• Conduct primary and secondary reviews of federal and state tax returns and analyze accounting records.
• Deliver best‑in‑class customer service, ensuring responsiveness, professionalism, and accuracy.
• Manage and build client relationships, acting as liaison and resolving issues.
• Delegate and oversee work, setting goals, removing obstacles, and ensuring timely delivery.
• Maintain current knowledge of tax practices and laws.
• Assist in engagement staffing, billing, collections, and profitability.
• Network and build strong internal and external relationships.
• Support professional development of team members through coaching and the Care & Teach philosophy.
• Invest in your own professional development through firm‑wide learning programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4‑year degree with CPA, Law License, or Enrolled Agent.
• 5 years of experience in federal and state tax compliance, accounting, and advisory services.
• Strong management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills.
• Excellent client service orientation and commitment to continuous learning.
• Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills.
• Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting; master’s or other advanced degree desirable.
• CPA or EA required.
• Two or more years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates.
• Ability to lead and supervise others while providing exceptional client service.
• Demonstrated commitment to ethical standards and quality.

Salary range: $90,000 – $126,390. Actual compensation is influenced by skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
