Grant Accountant

Job Details

• Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year.

• Manage all financial aspects of grant administration, including budgeting, financial reporting, and audit coordination.
• Prepare and submit timely and accurate financial reports to grantors, ensuring compliance with all grant requirements.
• Review and interpret grant agreements to ensure all financial conditions and regulations are met.
• Monitor and analyze grant expenses, ensuring they are in line with approved budgets.
• Work closely with program staff to develop budgets for grant proposals.
• Conduct regular reconciliations of grant accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
• Maintain comprehensive records of all grant transactions and contracts.
• Ensure accurate and timely entry of grant information into the accounting system.
• Liaise with external auditors, providing necessary information and documentation.
• Keep up‑to‑date with changes in financial regulations and best practices in grant management.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in grant accounting or related role.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proven experience with contracts and strong ability to interpret and apply terms.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to analyze complex financial data.
• Excellent organizational skills, manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, advanced Excel.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of grant management software is an asset.
