Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant for a local accounting firm.
DescriptionStaff accountant works under the supervision of a supervisor, manager or partner as appropriate.
Responsibilities- Prepare complex tax returns and special projects as needed
- Administrative duties such as maintaining schedules, providing telephone support, production and filing of forms.
- Interacting with clients to discuss their financial matters, such as discussions regarding information needed to prepare the tax returns or financial statements as deemed appropriate by their supervisor.
- General bookkeeping needs including preparing journal entries for clients.
- Understanding and use of tax software, electronic filing system, analytical/data mining software and other software as deemed appropriate by their supervisor.
- Accounting Degree or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of federal and state taxation
- Experience reviewing tax returns
