Position Summary

Performs a variety of routine day-to-day operations related to ledger entries, account reconciliation, and other accounting and office duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Journal entry preparation and entry.
  • Processing and batching high volume of cash receipts and bank deposits.
  • Enters cash transactions in ledger and reconciles cash reports.
  • Preparation of spreadsheets for financial analysis.
  • Data entry into Banner and nonprofit ledger software.
  • Running Queries for reports.
  • Printing Hyperion reports and querying Banner.
  • Ensures strict confidentiality of financial records, in compliance with federal and state patient privacy legislation.
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Freshman/Sophomore students preferred
    • Current UNM student enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours
    • Major or coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
    • Basic understanding of accounting/financial principles
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Clear and friendly communication skills
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
    • Willingness to take initiative and help problem-solve when needed
    • Comfort with basic computer programs (Microsoft Office, email, etc.)
