The Academic Technical Assistant provides support and assistance to faculty members, researchers, and students in an academic setting s position assists with technical tasks and provides administrative support, such as organizing schedules, coordinating meetings, and managing documentation. The Academic Technical Assistant plays a crucial role in facilitating the smooth operation of academic schools administrative functions and promoting a conducive learning environment.
Duties & Responsibilities- Ensures entering faculty course loads and compensation data into Workday, ensuring accuracy and generating Period Activity Pay (PAP).
- Processes department-approved course releases and project compensations, including collecting official agreements and tracking project outcomes.
- Monitors and audits faculty leave requests, verifies course schedules and office hours against leave requests before submission to supervisors.
- Tracks hours for part-time faculty and processes One-Time Payments for substitute assignments and supplemental pay.
- Coordinates accounting activities, prepares internal reports, participates in budget planning, and monitors department purchases, costs, and invoices.
- Maintains inventory processes and procedures for the school.
- Provides administrative support to department administration, faculty, and students, including customer service, composing minutes and correspondence, data research, record-keeping, supply ordering, and purchasing.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for faculty communication, updates program accreditation information, tracks employee professional/educational development, coordinates department travel, and organizes department catalog processes.
- Serves as backup for the reception desk and provides coverage in the absence of other staff members.
- Performs other related administrative duties as assigned by department leadership.
- Associates degree OR High school diploma or equivalent.
