Target Pay Range/Rate: $17.686–$22.108 per hour or $36,786.88–$45,984.64 annually

The Second Judicial District Court is recruiting for a full‑time, permanent Administrative Assistant 1 #‑23200 for the JJC Court Monitors Division VII in Albuquerque, NM. The incumbent reports directly to a supervisor and performs a broad range of clerical and administrative duties, assisting the public and supporting court operations.

Examples Of

Job Duties
  • Prepares documents, performs data entry, electronically files, copies, and mails or disseminates records.
  • Acts as a Court Monitor, attends court proceedings, records audible proceedings, and maintains court exhibits.
  • Maintains a docket or calendar of deadlines and appointments.
  • Manages and coordinates the timely processing of documents, correspondence, and records.
  • Manages and tracks information and data using electronic databases.
  • Routes files and information to appropriate destinations.
  • Answers telephones, provides customer service, and greets visitors.
  • Provides support to judges and staff, coordinates and schedules meetings, facilities, training, testing, vehicles, travel, video conferencing, and teleconferences.
  • Takes minutes and supports facilitator committees and staff.
  • Compiles and prepares statistical reports or analyses.
  • May act as site coordinator, coordinating services with outside vendors.
  • Receipts, balances, reconciles, and distributes incoming monies.
  • Orders supplies and ensures equipment is maintained.
  • Performs records maintenance and management, including retention or destruction of records.
  • May assist in the courtroom or with court programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The successful applicant should demonstrate knowledge of customer service practices; establishing priorities and meeting deadlines; managing multiple projects concurrently; preparing and organizing documents and correspondence precisely; maintaining accurate files and records; basic understanding of conflict resolution techniques; excellent oral and written communications; time management; attention to detail; strong organizational skills; knowledge of office management systems; working knowledge of office equipment; ability to use MS Office;

and general administrative activities.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Work is performed in an office or court setting. A valid driver's license and travel may be required. The schedule may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. The employee must interact positively with co‑workers, clients, the public, judges, and justices.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two (2) years of experience providing administrative, secretarial, or clerical support, customer service, answering phones, front desk work, handling money, or related field.
  • Post‑secondary education in a related field may substitute for up to one (1) year of experience; 30 semester hours equal one (1) year of experience.
