Medical Education Program Coordinator
The Division of General Internal Medicine/Geriatrics within the Department of Internal Medicine seeks a detailed and organized professional who learns new software quickly and enjoys interacting with diverse individuals. This coordinator will manage day‑to‑day administrative, operational, and fiscal activities of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics Residency, Fellowship, and Internship programs. The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment, and excellent communication skills.
The coordinator works closely with program leadership, faculty, residents, and patients as a central point of contact for programmatic, clinical, and administrative functions.
- Manage day‑to‑day administrative, operational, and fiscal activities of residency, fellowship, and internship programs.
- Serve as liaison and facilitator between program leadership, faculty, residents, and patients.
- Coordinate scheduling, meetings, and events, both virtually (Zoom, Teams) and in‑person.
- Maintain data management systems, including MS Outlook, Excel, Smart Sheet, and UNM Banner.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation and certification requirements such as ACGME.
- Provide exceptional customer service and protect confidentiality at all times.
- Balance priorities and meet customer needs in a timely manner.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution above the minimum requirement may be substituted for experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, Teams, Smart Sheet, and UNM Banner.
- Experience with medical education (residency and/or fellowships), accreditation, and certification requirements and standards (ACGME).
- Experience with complex scheduling and coordinating meetings/events virtually and in‑person.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new systems, effectively balance priorities, and meet customer needs timely.

Non‑Exempt - Hourly Pay: $19.76 – $26.85
