Overview
The Junior Business Development Specialist supports the Montech Inc. Headquarters office and performs a variety of business development activities, including external outreach, technical writing, responses to Sources Sought, Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and solicitations, as well as general office administration tasks related to business development and operations.
Place of PerformanceOn site at Montech Inc. headquarters, 2109 Air Park Rd SE, Suite 110, Albuquerque, NM.
Hours of OperationPart‑time, 16–20 hours per week, Monday – Friday, core hours 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (excluding U.S. National Federal Holidays). Flexible schedule will be provided.
Summary of Responsibilities- Conduct business development research using federal search tools.
- Review requirements for Request for Proposal/Quote (RFP/RFQ).
- Assist the Business Development team in compiling technical proposals.
- Prepare reports, create binders and specification sheets (scan, copy, file documents).
- Develop presentations and brief process updates.
- Assist with correspondence (emails, mailings, letters, documents) related to business development.
- Support specific Montech programs (tasks vary by program requirements).
- Maintain knowledge of supervisory goals, priorities, policies, and commitments.
- Schedule and monitor meetings, events, and office calendars.
- Provide general office administrative support (answer telephones, respond to emails, greet visitors).
- Assist with office supply inventory, complete errands, make approved purchases, pick‑ups/drop‑offs.
- Communicate with internal and external personnel, partners, customers, and colleagues.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Business or a business‑related field (or actively pursuing).
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- High proficiency with Outlook, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Adobe applications.
- Critical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- Technical writing skills, including research, editing, and proofreading.
- Excellent time management, multi‑tasking, and prioritization skills.
- Sound judgement, foresight, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to adapt to a fast‑paced work environment and handle pressure.
- Competency managing schedules, documentation, and automated systems.
- Demonstrated leadership and presentation development skills.
- Strong research and data‑gathering skills; ability to analyze complex information.
- Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite and communication with diverse customers and clients.
Travel required for the position is reimbursable in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations (FTR). Approval is required by the Montech President prior to travel.
SecurityMust be willing to pass a pre‑employment drug test and background investigation. Personnel must safeguard all Montech property provided for work purposes and return any Company‑provided property (equipment, software, etc.) upon completion of duties.
Professionalism, Responsiveness, and QualityThe Junior Business Development Specialist must conduct themselves with professionalism, responsiveness, and courtesy. They will interface with internal and external stakeholders and provide clear, concise communication and documentation.
The Business Specialist shall be identified as a Junior Business Development Specialist of Montech Inc. in all communication and shall not represent themselves as a government employee, agent, or representative.
