Position Summary

Under the direction of the Director, the Advisor will play a critical role in executing CGC’s labor pilot, a two-year effort supporting the abilities of three green bank partners to identify pipelines of projects that meet financial parameters, while also advancing the priorities of local labor and community stakeholders. CGC and our green bank partners are committed to creating high quality 21st century jobs, strengthening local workforce development, and ensuring that the benefits of the clean energy economy reach every community.

The CGC labor pilot would execute activities intended to increase labor and community engagement in the development of clean infrastructure projects in three targeted states, and to ensure those projects support job quality, workforce development, and community benefits objectives. The Advisor will help design the milestones for achieving the goals of the labor pilot and implement the day-to-day activities in one of the three targeted states.

Key Responsibilities

Advice on labor and community benefits opportunities :
Work with green bank partner to identify opportunities to strengthen the evaluation of labor, workforce, and community benefits practices in existing investment diligence procedures. Support green bank partner in connecting existing workforce development programs to projects already in the pipeline. Draft resources for measuring projects’ job quality, workforce development, and community benefits performance to supplement existing practices.

Organize labor and community stakeholder convenings: Lead the planning and execution of two convenings with labor and community stakeholders, developers, contractors, and/or green bank partner to help develop job quality, workforce development, and community benefits parameters that align with financing requirements for clean infrastructure projects. This involves building, strengthening, and maintaining relationships with labor and community stakeholders.
