AMERIND is a federally chartered,tribally owned corporation, formed under Section 17 of the Indian Reorganization Act (25 U.S.C. § 5124) by its Members, the governmental units of federally recognized Tribal Nations that administer federally funded housing programs for American Indian and Alaska Native families. AMERIND has the operating authority to work with Tribal Governments, Enterprises, and Citizens for Property and Liability, Workers Compensation, Homeowners and Renters, Employee Benefits coverage, Fleet Auto coverage, and Critical Infrastructure development.

Job Summary

Advises and consults directly with AMERIND customer base on best practices andhigh standards for risk management for Tribal operations and enterprises.

Brings value to members and customers through risk control consultation and safety training while helping to improve loss experience.

Supports and collaborates with AMERIND Underwriting, Claims, and other operating units as needed.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provides members, clients, andpolicyholdersvaluableconsultative risk control, risk management, and loss prevention services and strategies.
  • Researchesandinvestigatescustomer and employee accidents; performs accident statistical analysis; makes recommendations to reduce accidents.
  • Provides written and verbal recommendations on safety procedures, programs, equipment, etc. to members and clients/customers.
  • Conductstrainingfor AMERIND employees, members, and stakeholders on occupational safety, loss prevention, and emergency preparedness.
  • Assistsin developing, coordinating, and implementing services, programs, and activities to ensure safety measures are in place for clients.
  • Assistsin conducting safety analysis for members as requested; follows through with recommendations.
  • Provides consultative loss prevention,risk control services,and training to clients and policyholders.
  • Conducts comprehensive commercial property surveys and liability risk assessments for commercialcustomersand AMERIND members toidentifypotential risk exposures and hazards and to recommend improved risk controls.
  • Activelyparticipatesin and provides support for leadership,regional and national,Native American focused conferences, events, training/professional development, and association meetings to build relationships, market new business, and networks with industry leaders.
  • Provides support, education and resources to members and customers pertinent to emergency action plans, response protocols, and mitigation strategies.
  • Maintains proper recordsin accordance with company policies onrecordsretention.

    Accurate andtimelydocumentation of client interactions, risk assessments, property surveys,recommendations and implemented risk control measures.
  • Conducts claims and underwriting-directed field support.
  • Keeps abreast ofnew technologies and principles by conducting research, attending seminars, educational workshops, classes, and conferences; reviewing professional publications;establishing networks;participating in professional societies; conferring with representatives of contracting agencies and related organizations.
