Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Motor Grader Operator Tech III to join our construction team. This position is responsible for operating motor graders to perform high-precision rough and finish grading, setting accurate elevations and drainage, and supporting crew leadership to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.

Job Requirements

  • Operate motor graders to perform advanced rough and finish grading
  • Set and maintain precise line, grade, slope, and drainage per project plans
  • Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, grade stakes, and elevations
  • Perform fine-grade work for subgrade, base, and finish surfaces
  • Utilize GPS, laser, and conventional grade control systems
  • Calculate grades, elevations, and slopes to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Coordinate with foremen, survey crews, and other operators to maintain workflow
  • Identify and correct grading issues in the field
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, site safety requirements, and company policies
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite
  • Lead by example and assist in training or mentoring less experienced operators

Job Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience operating a motor grader
  • Proven experience with finish grading and complex grading work
  • Strong ability to read and understand plans, grade stakes, and elevations
  • Experience using GPS and laser grading systems
