Construction Observer

Construction Inspector – Albuquerque

We are seeking a qualified Construction Inspector to oversee operations at our Albuquerque office. The role involves inspecting various construction type job sites, including transportation, water/wastewater treatment facilities, and infrastructure projects, from start to finish.

• Observe and inspect construction projects from beginning to completion.
• Document daily progress, track materials and quantities, and perform material sampling and testing.
• Maintain timely, accurate records of project progress and general oversight.
• Read and interpret plans, details, specifications, and other contract documents.
• Identify and report deviations from contract documents.
• Conduct or oversee laboratory and field testing and reports on soils, aggregates, asphalt, and other materials.
• Provide clear written and oral communication and answer inquiries as required.
• Attend and conduct meetings to gain insight into projects prior to construction, progress updates, and other related meetings.
• Measure and scale distances using competent math skills to provide accurate documentation.

• 1+ years of construction experience preferred.
• Knowledge of typical construction practices and NMDOT specifications.
• Ability to travel and stay out of town a week at a time for on‑site observation, inspection, and testing.
• Independent work habits with efficient time‑management practices.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to coordinate with project stakeholders.
• Disciplined record‑keeping of daily, weekly, and monthly progress.
• Experience working with DOTs and understanding their requirements and expectations.

Hourly Earnings: $25.00–$40.00 (depending on experience).
