Student Intermediate Level Position Summary

About the SUB:

The SUB is looking for a candidate that can begin SUMMER 2026. This position is responsible for the setup and tear-down of tables, chairs, stages, drapes, etc., as well as setup and tear-down of audio-visual equipment including microphones, laptops, speakers, mixers, etc., within spaces of the Student Union Building. This role requires a candidate who can lift, push, pull, and manipulate 30lbs, has strong communication skills, and can work early mornings, late nights, and weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Adherence to Student Union Employee Handbook guidelines.
  • Set up and tear-down of audio-visual equipment.
  • Set up and tear-down of chairs, tables, stages, podiums, etc.
  • Works with the Building Manager and follows their directions regarding pace, prioritization, and aesthetics.
  • Perform minor audio-visual repairs/troubleshooting.
  • Maintain neat, orderly, and safe work environment; ensuring all equipment is returned to the appropriate storage area when not in use.
  • Ensure that all equipment is always in fully operational condition and report any problems to the supervisor.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to have a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn audio-visual equipment and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and manipulate heavy objects of at least 30lbs.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 20hrs per week, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
