KRQE Media Group in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is looking for an Investigative Reporter to join our team of journalists committed to holding powerful people and institutions accountable, uncovering stories that matter, and producing journalism that can make a difference in the lives of New Mexicans.
We are looking for a self-driven, curious and tenacious journalist who knows how to dig beyond the surface of a story. The ideal candidate can develop original investigations, cultivate sources, analyze records and complex information, ask tough questions, and translate complicated issues into clear, compelling stories that viewers can understand. This isn't simply a reporting job. It's an opportunity to produce impact-driven journalism that can expose wrongdoing, prompt change and make a difference across the state of New Mexico.

Our award-winning investigative journalists have uncovered wrongdoing, challenged those in power and provided New Mexicans with information they need to make informed decisions about their communities. If you're a journalist who isn't satisfied with simply reporting what happened—but wants to uncover why it happened, who is responsible and what can be done about it—we want to hear from you.
- Produce investigative stories that impact viewers
- Develop sources and contacts in the community
- Work with management to enterprise and develop stories and promo table Special Reports
- Demonstrate compelling storytelling using dynamic live shots and stand-ups, creative graphics, and use of digital and social media platforms
- Organize material, determine angle or emphasis, and write story according to prescribed editorial style and format standards
- Ability to uncover, expose, and find solutions for stories that will prompt change in the community
- Contribute research and analysis on major breaking news events on air and online
- Ability to uncover, analyze, and interpret complex information, public records, data, and other source materials.
- Ability to request and interpret FOIA documents
- Ability to produce data-based Journalism
- Detail oriented
- Demonstrate editorial judgment using knowledge of journalism ethics and libel laws
- Strong on-air reporting, writing, and technical skills
