Parking Services Rep

UNM Parking & Transportation Services (PATS) is dedicated to creating a welcoming and accesible campus experience for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. We are seeking a full‑time, benefits-eligible Parking Services Representative to join our business office team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment and takes pride in delivering high‑quality service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service in person, by phone and through written communication (email and chat)
  • Process a variety of transactions using a computer‑based point‑of‑sale (POS) system
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues efficiently and professionally
  • Apply and interpret standard operating procedures, policies, and guidelines accurately
  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment
  • Learn and utilize multiple parking and transportation‑related systems
  • Collaborate with team members to support daily operations and ensure service continuity
  • Perform general administrative and customer support functions as needed
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • POS & cash handling experience
  • Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service to a diverse population
  • Must be able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with a team
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Windows‑based computer operating systems
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
Employment Conditions
  • Must pass a pre‑employment criminal background check
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University’s influenza vaccination requirement
  • All regular, non‑temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US‑UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • This position follows a Monday through Friday schedule between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend shifts based on operational needs
