UNM Parking & Transportation Services (PATS) is dedicated to creating a welcoming and accessible campus experience for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. We are seeking a full-time, benefits-eligible Parking Services Representative to join our business office team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment and takes pride in delivering high‑quality service. The ideal candidate will bring at least three years of customer service experience, including working with a computer‑based point‑of‑sale (POS) system, along with strong communication skills and attention to detail.
In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact for customers, assisting in person, over the phone, and through email or chat. You will play an important part in ensuring smooth daily operations by accurately processing transactions, resolving customer concerns, and applying established policies and procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service in person, by phone, and through written communication (email and chat)
- Process a variety of transactions using a computer‑based point‑of‑sale (POS) system
- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues efficiently and professionally
- Apply and interpret standard operating procedures, policies, and guidelines accurately
- Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment
- Learn and utilize multiple parking and transportation‑related systems
- Collaborate with team members to support daily operations and ensure service continuity
- Perform general administrative and customer support functions as needed
- Must pass a pre‑employment criminal background check.
- Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
- All regular, non‑temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US‑UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
Preferred Qualifications- POS & Cash handling experience
- Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service to a diverse population
- Must be able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with a team
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of Windows‑based computer operating systems
- Strong conflict resolution skills
