The Service Aide serves as a key first point of contact for patients, visitors, and volunteers all visitors entering through the lobby are greeted in a professional manner while delivering excellent customer service that meets organizational standards. They perform service recovery by being a point of contact for customer concerns and provide directions to their Presbyterian destination using compassionate and respectful communication to support a positive overall visitor experience.
They are informed of services and information in order to make the customers visit to Presbyterian Healthcare Services positive and to demonstrate courteous, compassionate, and respectful service at all times.
Provides customers of Hospitals, POB, and ACC with accurate and efficient directions, meeting customer service standards.
Coordinates information desk activities to ensure customer needs are addressed effectively and professionally.
Maintains working knowledge of hospital operations policy, procedures and location of services to provide accurate information and high-quality service.
Demonstrates proficiency in and commitment to CARES behavior standards, including compassionate and respectful communication.
Adheres to HIPAA and patient privacy requirements at all times while maintaining respectful interactions.
Effectively interacts with customers to understand their needs, explain information clearly, and demonstrate compassionate and respectful service.
Demonstrates effective, compassionate, and respectful communication skills in person and via telephone with patients, visitors, physicians, staff, and external partners.
Serves as a secondary point of contact for on-site volunteers during assigned shifts and provides courteous, respectful support.
Provides administrative support throughout the volunteer lifecycle, including data entry, volunteer hour tracking, file management, meal voucher distribution, and report generation.
Welcomes volunteers, provides basic guidance, and directs them to appropriate assignments or contacts using compassionate communication.
Responds to routine volunteer questions and escalates concerns in a professional and respectful manner.
Provides scheduled and as-needed coverage for the gift shop, delivering excellent customer service and maintaining a welcoming environment.
Assists customers and processes sales in accordance with established procedures while demonstrating courteous and respectful service.
Follows cash-handling and point-of-sale guidelines and reports discrepancies or issues promptly.
Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED
Three or more months experience using multi-line phone systems and computers
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to demonstrate compassionate and respectful communication with diverse populations.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
