Position Summary
We are seeking a detail‑oriented and creative Landscape Estimator/Designer to join our team. This hybrid role is responsible for both the design and cost estimation of Commercial and/or luxury residential landscape projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong design skills, in‑depth plant and materials knowledge, and the ability to prepare accurate and competitive project estimates.
Key Responsibilities Design- Meet with clients to gather requirements and understand project goals.
- Create conceptual and final landscape designs using CAD.
- Select appropriate plantings, hardscape materials, lighting, and irrigation systems.
- Develop detailed design presentations, including 2D/3D visualizations, plans, and mood boards.
- Collaborate with project managers and installation teams to ensure design intent is achieved during execution.
- Analyze design plans and specifications to prepare accurate material and labor cost estimates.
- Solicit quotes from vendors and subcontractors for materials and services.
- Prepare and submit professional bid packages and proposals.
- Track project budgets, change orders, and ensure estimates align with actual costs.
- Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or related field preferred; or equivalent experience.
- 2–5+ years of experience in landscape design and/or estimating.
- Proficient in landscape design software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel in particular).
- Strong knowledge of local plant species, horticultural practices, grading, drainage, and construction methods.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Knowledge of local zoning and permitting requirements.
- Experience with sustainability or native plant design.
- Familiarity with CRM or project management software.
- Office-based with regular field visits to project sites and client locations.
- May require occasional evening or weekend meetings depending on client schedules.
