Position Summary
The School of Architecture and Planning is seeking temporary, part‑time Lecturers to teach graduate‑level courses in the Landscape Architecture Graduate Degree Program. The positions are open until filled.
The Department of Landscape Architecture at UNM is committed to providing a strong and comprehensive graduate education designed to prepare graduates to enter the profession of landscape architecture as private, public or academic practitioners. The core educational mission of the program is the investigation of principles and theories of Landscape Architecture, their application as tools for critical thinking and their synthesis in design thinking, as they apply to issues of the Southwest and in a larger world context of social, cultural, environmental and evolutionary influences on the landscape.
The School of Architecture and Planning is housed on UNM's main campus in the award‑winning George Pearl Hall, designed by architect Antoine Predock. The building includes spacious, naturally lit design studios, a Fabrication Lab and a Computer/Print Lab.

- Graphic Communication (hand and digital)
- Landscape Architecture Design at a variety of scales
- Construction Documents and Irrigation Design
- Grading and Drainage Design
- Plants and Planting Design
- Professional Practice in Landscape Architecture
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in landscape architecture or a related field; OR
- Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, three years of practicing as a landscape architect and a current Professional License; OR
- A bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of ten years of professional practice in one of the areas of expertise listed above.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in landscape architecture or a related field
- Professional practice experience of three years or more
- Teaching experience of at least two semesters
- A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as experience working with broadly diverse communities.
