Green Summit Landscape Management is seeking a motivated and creative Landscape Design Intern to join our team in the Summer of 2027! This internship provides hands-on experience in commercial landscape design and offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on real landscape projects.

The Landscape Design Intern will assist with developing landscape plans, plant selections, design concepts, and project materials while gaining valuable experience with the design process from initial concept through implementation.

What You'll Do
  • Assist with the development of landscape designs and plans for commercial properties.
  • Help create planting plans, landscape layouts, and design concepts.
  • Research and select appropriate plant material based on site conditions, aesthetics, maintenance requirements, and water needs.
  • Assist with plant identification and developing plant palettes appropriate for the New Mexico climate.
  • Help prepare landscape proposals, material lists, estimates, and project documentation.
  • Assist with drafting, revisions, and presentation materials.
  • Work with Account Managers, Field Operations Managers, and landscape crews to help ensure designs are practical and can be successfully implemented in the field.
  • Participate in site visits and property walks to gather information and evaluate existing landscape conditions.
  • Make revisions to designs based on client feedback and project requirements.
  • Organize and maintain design files, plans, plant information, and project documentation.
  • Assist with other design and administrative projects as needed.

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a degree or certificate in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, Horticulture, Environmental Design, or a related field
    .
  • Strong interest in landscape design and the green industry.
  • Creative mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of plants and landscape materials.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with computers and learning new software.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn and accept feedback.
  • Previous landscape design, horticulture, drafting, or related experience is a plus, but not required.
Preferred Skills

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

  • AutoCAD
  • Sketch Up
  • Land F/X
  • Microsoft Office
  • Other drafting, design, or landscape software

Applicants are encouraged to provide a portfolio or examples of design work
, including class projects, personal projects, or previous landscape designs.

This is primarily an office-based position
, with opportunities to visit job sites and properties to better understand site conditions and see landscape projects in progress.

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys both creative design work and seeing their designs come to life in the field

Compensation

$16.00 per hour

$350.00/month housing stipend
