Presbyterian Medical Group seeks a Board Eligible / Board Certified Vascular Surgeon to join our established practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We're all about well-being, starting with yours. Practice Highlights- Access to two hybrid OR suites and one in the cath lab
- Dedicated Vascular OR team with daily block time
- Each week surgeons can expect two days in the clinic and three days in the OR
- Team consists of four collegial surgeons with a wide range of experience with the opportunity for mentorship if desired
- Full spectrum of procedures (endovascular, open and hybrid repairs) including:
- Carotid disease, thoracic, abdominal, peripheral, mesenteric aneurysms, lower extremity arterial and venous disease
- Dialysis access creation and maintenance
- 1:4 Call
- Dedicated group of four vascular surgery APCs that take call with the surgeon
- Established referral network with a tremendous regional referral area
- Incoming surgeon should expect to have a full panel of patients from day one
- Works as an integral team member with the vascular surgeon and APCs to optimize the assessment, treatment and follow up of vascular patients.
- Consults on hospitalized patients as needed.
- Participates in hospital rounding on patients.
- Coordinate patient care and follow-up for vascular patients on the vascular service.
- Presents patient to vascular surgeons and assists in formulating a treatment plan.
- Evaluate postoperative patients and performs routine follow up visits.
- See same day patients when required.
- Triage new and existing patients over the phone.
- Return patient phone calls.
- Handle prescription refills.
- Makes all professional medical judgments in the care of patients seen.
- Manages the physician/patient relationship.
- Participates in system wide health management initiatives.
- Provides input into the practice sites financial, clinical, and service quality performance; budget; capital plan; and personnel issues.
- Assists in the development and implementation of clinical and service standards.
- Receives and resolves patient complaints.
- Participates in the recruitment and replacement of other providers.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, literature review, in-services, and workshops.
- Participates equally in general cardiology call rotation.
- Performs other functions as required.
