Position SummaryThe Student Success Leader in African American Student Services plays a critical role in advancing student retention, persistence, and holistic success for students at the University of New Mexico. This position centers on building and sustaining cross-cultural engagement across campus departments, fostering collaborative relationships that enhance access, belonging, and equitable student success outcomes. The Student Success Leader works directly with students while also serving as a connector between AASS and academic, student support, and cultural units across campus.

Preferred Qualifications- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at the University of New Mexico.
- Demonstrated interest in student leadership, peer mentoring, community engagement, or student success initiatives.
- Experience participating in or supporting student organizations, cultural centers, campus programs, or community-based activities.
- Interest in cross-cultural engagement, social justice, equity, and inclusion work.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse groups.
- Ability to balance academic responsibilities with part-time employment commitments.
- Familiarity with UNM campus resources, or willingness to learn and navigate university systems.
- Reliability, professionalism, and a willingness to learn in a supportive, student-centered environment.
