Overview

The instructor position plays a critical role in the teaching and learning process, ensuring that students achieve mastery of course, program, and institutional learning outcomes. The instructor is responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality instruction, engaging in program improvement processes, and participating in various institutional and student affairs initiatives. This position requires a proactive and dedicated approach to student success, including fostering a positive and supportive learning environment, utilizing diverse teaching methodologies, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure ongoing program and student development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Instruction and Curriculum Delivery:
    Prepare lessons and course materials in accordance with the college curriculum, use appropriate teaching methods and resources, adhere to course syllabi, and deliver instruction using dynamic techniques to support diverse learning styles and a positive classroom environment.
  • Student Support and Success:
    Maintain regular and open communication with students regarding progress, attendance, and performance; provide proactive academic advising, tutoring, and office hours to assist students with course material and career development; participate in student affairs activities to support engagement and success.
  • Assessment and Program Improvement:
    Regularly assess student learning outcomes and implement strategies to enhance performance and course effectiveness; use achievement and learning data to contribute to program improvement processes, including program review and evaluation; stay current with industry trends and best practices.
  • Collaboration and Faculty Development:
    Participate in departmental meetings, advisory boards, and faculty development activities to support continuous improvement and program growth; collaborate with colleagues across departments to support student success and program outcomes; mentor and support new faculty members for successful integration.
  • Compliance and Accreditation:
    Adhere to institutional, accreditation, and regulatory standards; ensure program components comply with requirements; document grades, attendance, advising, and other information in the institution’s systems; participate in assessments to ensure compliance and quality improvement.
  • Other Duties:
    Ensure instructional materials remain relevant and updated; ensure classroom and lab equipment is available and maintained; fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director, Academic Dean, or Campus Director/President.

Qualifications
  • Education and Experience:
    • Massage Therapy Certificate of Achievement
    • State Massage Therapy License
    • Certified Massage Therapist
    • BLS for the Healthcare Provider
    • 2 years field experience
    • 50 contact hours of instructional experience or professional teaching/workshop instruction
    • Practiced massage therapy for a minimum of two years within the past three years
  • Language

    Skills:
