Position Summary
The Department of Linguistics at UNM ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) is looking to hire a student to take the role of a language consultant in a Field Methods class (16 weeks) in Fall 2026
. The student will be paid $23 per hour for 6-8 hours a week.
Minimum Qualifications
- Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Preferred Qualifications
Requirements- Be a native, fluent speaker of a non-Indo-European language (lesser-known language, under-documented language, indigenous language, minority language, etc.)
- Availability of 6-8 hours/week on campus. This includes attendance at most of class sessions and availability to meet with students for out-of-class elicitation sessions.
- No background in linguistics necessary.
