The Department of Linguistics at UNM ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) is looking to hire a student to take the role of a language consultant in a Field Methods class (16 weeks) in Fall 2026
. The student will be paid $23 per hour for 6–8 hours a week.

Enrolled in a degree‑seeking program at UNM, enrolled at least half‑time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet satisfactory academic progress.

• Be a native, fluent speaker of a non‑Indo‑European language (lesser‑known language, under‑documented language, indigenous language, minority language, etc.)
• Availability of 6‑8 hours/week on campus. This includes attendance at most of class sessions and availability to meet with students for out‑of‑class elicitation sessions.
• No background in linguistics necessary.
