Position:
Full-time, 1.0 FTE
Teacher will be expected to spend 0.25 of their time serving students with disabilities in the 6th-9th grades. The remaining 0.75 of the time will be dedicated to our 2nd-9th grade Gifted population. No Gifted endorsement is required for this position due to TMA being a Charter school in NM. This dynamic role will move between our Elementary and Middle/High school campuses.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid Teaching License through NMPED.
- Endorsement by the Public Education Department in the subject and level to be taught (for grades 6+).
- Strong knowledge of the subject(s) to be taught.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Adaptability and flexibility to meet the individual needs of students.
- Recommendations from degree granting institutions and/or previous employing institutions.
- Knowledge of educational technology and the ability to integrate it into the teaching and learning process.
- Montessori trained or willing to undergo Montessori training.
Job Description
As a Teacher at TMA, you will play a crucial role in shaping the minds of students and fostering their academic, social, and personal development. Terms of EmploymentWork year will be contracted for 184 plus 10 additional days (total of 194 days). Salary will be determined by individual training and experience level on the current Governing Council Approved Teacher Salary Schedule.
EvaluationPerformance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the NMPED policy on evaluation of teachers.
Physical Rating LevelThis position will require the employee to function at a “medium” physical capacity as defined by Workman’s Compensation statutes. “Medium” allows lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally or up to 25 pounds frequently.
Job Requirements- At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
