The Political Science department at the University of New Mexico (UNM) anticipates hiring Adjunct Faculty to teach undergraduate courses in the Spring, Summer, and Fall 2023 semesters.

Public Policy and Administration
The department is seeking qualified temporary part‑time faculty members to teach undergraduate classes in these disciplines. Instructors are responsible for all aspects of any class they are teaching—meeting with the class during assigned times, delivering the curriculum, developing, grading assignments, reporting grades, and assessing student learning outcomes as outlined by the Chair of the department.
Positions are contingent upon need each semester, as determined by student enrollment levels, courses on the current schedule, and demand driven by graduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Selected candidates will report to the Chair of the Political Science department.
Best Consideration Dates- Spring 2023 semester – November 15, 2022
- Summer 2023 semester – March 15, 2023
- Fall 2023 semester – July 15, 2023
- Master's Degree or higher in Political Science or a subfield for which you are applying
- OR Master's Degree or higher in a field other than Political Science that is related to the position for which you are applying
- Two years of professional experience in the specialization or subfield
- Earned doctorate from an accredited institution
- Successful teaching experience in a post‑secondary institution
- Experience teaching courses using a variety of modalities (Face‑to‑Face, Remote, Fully Online)
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, and working with broadly diverse communities
- Cover Letter indicating the courses and/or disciplines in which you are interested in teaching; the days/times you are available; and how your education and experience satisfy the Minimum Qualifications criteria described above.
