Student Intermediate Level Position Summary

Under direct supervision, provides routine on‑call assistance to Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering instructor in the day‑to‑day performance of classroom and associated activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in facilitating classroom activities carried out by students.

Set up and monitor usage of classroom equipment and supplies; ensure that equipment and supplies are returned to storage after use.

Communicate with, assist, and answer questions from students as required on routine day‑to‑day classroom issues.

Practice appropriate safety and injury prevention methods and procedures.

Plan activities and prepare materials for classes being instructed.

Prepare and develop various teaching aids for use in the classroom, including activity sheets and handouts.

May lecture.

May tutor students.

Grade classwork.

Keep records/folders of classwork.

Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned.

Current UNM student.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

REQUIRED:

Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.

Ability to clearly communicate and work effectively with others in a variety of situations.

Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.

Interested in helping others learn or teaching usefulness.

Minimum GPA, credits, class, or specific CCEE course may be required.
