NM PreK classrooms play a critical role in preparing children for kindergarten—academically, socially, and emotionally.
In This Role, You Will- Support children in developing foundational literacy, math, and social‑emotional skills
- Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with NM Early Learning Guidelines
- Create structured, predictable classroom routines that promote confidence and independence
- Build strong, respectful partnerships with families
- Document learning and progress in accordance with NM PreK standards
- Maintain compliance with state PreK and childcare licensing regulations

Key Responsibilities:
- Create and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with NM Early Learning Guidelines and the Reggio Emilia approach.
- Lead and inspire your classroom team—model excellence, collaboration, and professionalism while mentoring assistants and interns.
- Foster creativity and curiosity through hands‑on, nature‑based learning experiences that promote social‑emotional and cognitive growth.
- Communicate effectively with families through daily updates, progress reports, and parent‑teacher conferences.
- Ensure excellence and compliance with state licensing regulations, FOCUS standards, and East Gate Kids policies.
- Document learning through observations, lesson plans, and developmental portfolios.
- Engage in continuous growth—participate in trainings, workshops, and professional development to strengthen your craft.

We welcome educators at different stages of their journey, but NM PreK standards require:
Required- Associate’s Degree (AA) in Early Childhood Education or related field OR
- Currently enrolled in an AA ECE program OR
- Commitment to enroll in an ECE degree program in the upcoming term
- Experience working in a preschool or PreK classroom
- Knowledge of child development and play‑based learning
- Strong classroom management and instructional planning skills
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass all state‑required background checks
