This position is for Fall 2026 hiring only. Student Managers are undergraduate and graduate students who support the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) programming and tutoring services offered to UNM students. Through this leadership position, students provide mentorship and guidance to CTL student employees within a specific academic support program.
We are hiring two Student Managers for Fall 2026: one supporting the CTL Math team and one supporting the CTL Chem‑Bio team.

Pay: $16.96 Hourly

Status: Non‑Exempt
- Provide coordination and expertise for a CTL program and service as they pertain to a particular content area.
- Provide mentorship for CTL student employees and model professional expectations at their location.
- Model best practices in peer tutoring as a tutor in an academic content or student support area.
- Make informed decisions and take appropriate actions to maintain the integrity of CTL programs.
- Support program needs and day‑to‑day operations.
- Plan and co‑facilitate weekly trainings for CTL student employees.
- Work with full‑time staff members on assignments and projects as needed.
- Represent CTL internally and externally through presentations to student groups, organizations, and classes on CTL‑related services.
- Provide outreach to student populations within the UNM community.
- Participate in Student Manager meetings and Friday trainings throughout the academic semester.
- Uphold and model CTL policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned related to the program/team.
- 15–25 hour work week availability.
- Availability to attend Friday trainings during the semester (3 pm‑5 pm).
- Flexible work schedule for occasional nights and weekends if needed.
- Enrollment in a minimum of 6 credit hours at the University of New Mexico in a degree‑seeking program.
- At least one full semester of experience working at a STEM learning center.
- For the Chem‑Bio Student Manager: experience with Chemistry and Biology at UNM; completed at least Organic Chemistry II and has some Biology experience.
- For the Math Student Manager: experience with Math at UNM; completed at least Calculus 3.
