Qualifications

- Minimum Qualifications:

To teach courses as described above are determined by Higher Learning Commission's accreditation requirements for faculty, and must be met by one of these ways:
Master's Degree or higher in Native American Studies/American Indian Studies/Indigenous Studies or subfield for which you are applying;
Master's Degree or higher in a field other than Native American Studies/American Indian Studies/Indigenous Studies that is related to the position for which you are applying;
Successful completion of at least 18 graduate credit hours in an accredited program in the discipline or subfield for which you are applying (i.e. BA or BS degree for example)

Preferred Qualifications:

Two years professional experience in the specialization or subfield Demonstrates ability to contribute to the Native American Studies, Undergraduate and Graduate programs; and mentor diverse students at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels Experience and/or commitment to teaching excellence at graduate and undergraduate levels Successful teaching experience in a post-secondary institution A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global
