Youth & Government Coordinator Position Summary
New Mexico Youth and Government is a program of the YMCA of Central New Mexico that provides a civic education opportunity for high school students. This program is offered for high school students across New Mexico to learn about how the New Mexico government works, and to help students understand how to interact with their elected and public officials as active members of the electorate.
The Youth and Government program is in need of work‑study student support for several needs within our program. Job duties may include:

Preferred QualificationsMinimum qualifications:
- Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with grant writing
- Experience with developing content for social media
- Experience with outreach, such as clothing drives or fundraisers
- Experience with creating a digital archive
- Experience developing learning materials
- Experience with debate preparation
- Experience with event planning
- Knowledge of New Mexico governmental processes (such as drafting legislation, parliamentary procedure, moot court competition, or state agency operations)
