Sandia Preparatory School is seeking a candidate for an Ancient World Historyteaching position. The ideal candidate will have a degree in History or another Social Studies field, at least 3 years of high school teaching experience, as well as demonstrated skills in inquiry and project-based learning. The 9th Grade Ancient World History class focuses primarily on non-western regions of the world and your background ideally reflects that approach.
Past involvement in Mock Trial, Model UN, or Speech and Debate are a plus.
At Sandia Prep, you will find the History and Social Studies Department to be collaborative and courses that are interactive, promote student engagement, and academic growth. You’ll notice that our school focuses on interdisciplinary teaching and learning as well as a commitment to equity and inclusion. Further, we are looking for a teacher who is willing to expand their own professional study and growth through coursework, workshops, and/or conferences that help develop your pedagogy.
Finally, beyond classroom instruction, you will sponsor two activities or clubs of your choice as well as participate in events outside the school day.
