Position Summary

Are you an experienced adult educator/trainer and creative problem solver? Do you possess flexible communication skills and enjoy working with a diverse group of interesting people? Do you excel in a deadline driven, team environment?

Assessment & Learning produces complex performance examinations for medical students. The Training Specialist contributes to this mission by training Standardized Patients (individuals from the community) to portray clinical cases for medical students to demonstrate patient communication and physical examination skills. In addition to possessing excellent training skills, the successful candidate must be able to plan, schedule, recruit, interview, develop training materials, and evaluate outcomes.

Attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to adapt to the unexpected and to collaborate effectively with other Assessment & Learning team members. If this type of challenge sounds like fun, we'd like to meet you!

Typical

Work Hours:

M-F, 8AM – 5PM, may have earlier or later work hours during assessments

Minimum Qualifications

Successful completion of at least 60 college-level credit hours; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Working in a healthcare/clinical environment
  • Working in a deadline-oriented job
  • Managing multiple projects on a daily basis
  • Teaching or training adults in a professional setting
  • Working as a standardized/simulated patient
  • Training standardized/simulated patients
  • Developing training materials or training plans

Proficient with:

  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Power Point
  • Microsoft Access or experience with relational databases including data entry, building queries and reports
  • Web searches
  • Online training development
Additional Requirements

- Although on-site presence is a requirement of this position, the opportunity for a flexible telecommuting schedule may be available after the probationary/training period and supervisor/manager approval.

- Working hours are M-F, 8AM – 5PM, and may have earlier or later work hours during assessments.
