Secondary Aide

DLD Sycamore School is a school serving students in grades 2–12 with learning differences such as processing disorders, autism, ADHD, and dyslexia. The Secondary Aide is a part-time, on-site position located in Northeast Albuquerque, providing daily academic and classroom support to teachers and students in secondary grade classrooms. Depending on the needs of the school and individual students, this position may include independently teaching certain subjects as well as providing one-on-one or small-group support in other classes.

The Secondary Aide will assist with classroom management, support accommodations for students with diverse learning needs, reinforce academic skills and teacher-directed instruction, and provide individualized student support. The aide may also substitute teach classes when needed. This role involves working closely with teachers and other faculty members, with ongoing support and collaboration from the school team.

• Ability to support classroom instruction, including assisting with lessons, tutoring students, and reinforcing teacher-directed activities.
• Strong skills in student supervision, classroom management, and promoting positive, age-appropriate behavior.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, students, and families.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience working with students with learning differences or in an educational setting preferred; a willingness and desire to learn is also valued.
• Flexibility, initiative, patience, and empathy when working with students with diverse learning needs.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating as part of a supportive school team.

Annual salary: $20,000–$30,000, based on experience and responsibilities.
