The Department of Marketing, Information Systems, and Decision Sciences (MIDS) within the Ellis School of Business Leadership (formerly Anderson School of Management) at the University of New Mexico is seeking qualified candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Management Information Systems (preferably in Cybersecurity), with an anticipated start date of August 2027.
The James & Gail Ellis School of Business Leadership (Ellis) is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International and is one of the few in the world to attain both an Accounting and Business Accreditation from AACSB. We offer BBA and MBA degrees in eight active concentrations as well as an Executive MBA for working professionals.

The MIDS Department faculty supports existing BBA and MBA programs, including concentrations in MIS, and an MS in Cybersecurity and Business Analytics. Teaching responsibilities for this position include undergraduate and graduate courses in Management Information Systems (preferably in Cybersecurity).
The Marketing, Information Systems, and Decision Sciences group is a small, cohesive group seeking colleagues who demonstrate a willingness to make a commitment to maintaining and building a strong MIS area within the Ellis School of Business Leadership.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Applicants must possess an earned doctorate or have a strong prospect for completing a doctorate in Management Information Systems, Information Systems, Cybersecurity or a closely related field from an accredited institution by August 2027.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Evidenceofor promiseofa significant programofresearch and scholarship in cybersecurity and/or Management Information Systems
- Evidenceofexcellence or promiseofachieving excellence in teaching MIS core and elective courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, with emphasis on cybersecurity.
- Demonstrated ability or interest in teaching MIS core and elective courses, such as Cybersecurity, Databases, Programming, Network & Systems Administration, and Systems Analysis & Design, as well as other core/elective MIS courses as needed.
- Demonstrated ability or interest in teaching online.
- A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university’s mission to serve local and global communities.
