Experienced Solar Laborer needed - Pay is $23.00

Job Description

The Solar Laborer supports the construction and installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems mounted on parking canopy structures. This role focuses on site preparation, structural assembly, and overhead solar panel installation, working primarily outdoors and as part of a collaborative team.

Essential Skills
  • Experience working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • General labor experience in construction or similar physically demanding environments.
  • Ability to perform repeated overhead lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively using hand tools and basic power tools.
  • Comfort working at heights and performing all work overhead.
  • Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team on a construction site.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability in a physically intensive role.
  • Previous experience in solar installation or solar construction.
  • Familiarity with racking systems used for solar panel installations.
  • Basic understanding of electrical installation concepts related to solar PV systems.
  • Experience working in public open spaces or active outdoor job sites.
  • Willingness to learn solar installation best practices and safety procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with the construction and installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on parking canopy structures.
  • Support site preparation activities to ensure work areas are safe, organized, and ready for installation.
  • Install solar modules onto steel columns, beams, and rails according to project specifications and safety standards.
  • Perform continuous overhead lifting of materials and solar panels, including loads up to 50 pounds, throughout the workday.
  • Use hand tools and power tools to set, secure, and align solar modules and racking components.
  • Assemble and adjust structural and racking systems to ensure proper fit and stability for solar panels.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and experienced crew members to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Work effectively as part of a team on an active construction site in public open spaces.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area, including proper handling and storage of tools and materials.
  • Adhere to all site safety rules, procedures, and guidelines while working at heights and performing overhead tasks.

This is a Contract position based out of Albuquerque, NM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
