OverviewThe position will be responsible for supporting our R&D efforts in the development of new products and solutions for the security market at our Albuquerque, NM location. The position supports key R&D development projects with customers. Develops creative solutions for security features by combining knowledge of materials, spectroscopy and manufacturing processes. This position will be responsible for supporting projects by leading and managing specific deliverables assigned to them.
In addition, this position will also support technical issues that arise in STA’s portfolio of products.
- Lead and manage specific deliverables assigned to them to support R&D projects.
- Support technical issues that arise in STA’s portfolio of products.
- Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field with 0 years of experience in industrial product development or Master’s in Chemistry or related field with a minimum of 5 years of industrial experience in product development.
- Knowledge of inorganic synthesis and characterization. Synthetic expertise in nanoparticles, nanomaterials and/or quantum dots a plus.
- Expertise in measuring and interpreting material luminescent and plasmonic properties.
- Expertise in multiple spectroscopic techniques.
- Strong knowledge of analytical instrumentation.
- Strong knowledge of safety awareness.
- Ability to manage team activities
- Ability to connect customer needs to technical solutions
- Ability to communicate effectively to audiences of varying technical backgrounds
- Strong organizational and technical writing skills
- Ability to add to STA’s IP portfolio
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret Clearance
- Must be a US Citizen
