At Jacobs, we’re challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world’s most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery, and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good. We’re seeking a Mid-Level Geotechnical Engineer to join our Remediation and Regeneration business and support environmental site remediation projects for federal and global private sector clients.
Based at our Tempe, AZ office (offices in Las Vegas, NV or Albuquerque, NM may be considered), you’ll collaborate with scientists, engineers, subject matter experts, and project managers on complex remediation projects. With support from our global geotechnical technology team, you’ll apply your technical expertise to evaluate site conditions, identify geotechnical data needs, assess remedial alternatives, perform engineering calculations, and develop designs.
You’ll use your technical writing skills to prepare work plans, reports, and design documents, including technical specifications.
As part of our geotechnics practice, you’ll take responsibility for geotechnical components of project design, including shallow and deep foundations, earth-retaining structures, settlement analyses, and slope stabilization measures. You will help generate geotechnical specifications and prepare data reports, baseline reports, and interpretive analyses. You’ll learn from experienced staff eager to mentor you while also sharing your knowledge with others. As a mid-level engineer, you’ll work under the guidance of Design Managers and discipline leads, but you will also be expected to take ownership of assigned tasks and deliver high-quality work.
Up to 50% of your time may be spent in the field, overseeing or collecting high-quality geotechnical and related data to support your designs. Safety will be your top priority as you contribute to an “incident-free” work environment and uphold the highest standards of Health & Safety in both office and field settings.
At Jacobs, we’re partnering across the globe to create the best project outcomes by maximizing the design, digital technology, and support capabilities of our Global Integrated Delivery (GID) teammates. This is a Hybrid position where you’ll be afforded the flexibility to work from both the office and home as best suited to meet project delivery goals while maintaining balance.
