Job Summary
The Industrial Engineering Intern supports all operations at the Albuquerque plant by taking times, balancing operations, preparing Excel charts, and capacity analysis from various manufacturing processes. The responsibilities include identifying bottleneck operations and opportunities to release them, performing data analysis based on time studies, and supporting continuous improvement projects. Basic knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD is desired.
Primary Responsibilities- Taking times from process manufacturing products
- Prepare documentation from all manufacturing production areas
- Archive studies and capacity analysis
- Participate in continuous improvement projects
- Determine capacity and line utilization for workload capacity analysis
- Summarize and share data with all involved teams on plant
- Enrollment in an accredited engineering program
- Completion of four semesters of engineering curriculum
- Industrial Engineering major preferred
- Must be U.S. citizen and able to work on U.S. military projects
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Energetic, motivated individual able to independently complete assigned tasks
- Attention to safety and safe handling of lead‑containing materials
- Ability to learn and recommend improvements to operators and engineers
- Basic skills with Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Communicate observations and results to engineering team
- Extended periods of standing combined with sitting and walking
- Ability to go up and down steps
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
