Sr. Electrical Engineer - Space Technologies

Overview

AV provides space-qualified hardware trusted to fly in extreme environments across GEO, MEO, LEO, and Cislunar orbits. The team is expanding to develop systems needed for missions that cannot fail.

• Design custom high‑speed digital electronics, including ADCs, DACs, FPGAs, processors, and communications drivers.
• Design and conduct analysis of analog circuits, including low‑noise signal conditioning and power amplifiers.
• Provide expertise to product development and R&D efforts.
• Collaborate with peers, leads, and managers to develop, review, and refine designs and analyses to meet program technical needs within defined time and budget constraints.
• Work within a broad‑disciplined program team providing expertise in support of electronics manufacturing and testing.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering with 8 years of experience or a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years in design, analysis, integration, and test of custom electronics.
• U.S. citizen.
• Experience designing high‑speed digital electronics, including ADCs, DACs, FPGAs, processors, and communications drivers.
• Experience designing and conducting analysis of analog circuits, including low‑noise signal conditioning and power amplifiers.
• Proficiency in electrical design software and simulation tools such as Altium, SPICE, MATLAB, Simulink, Hyper Lynx, and MS Office.
• Ability to conduct circuit analysis and simulation to optimize performance and reliability.

• Understanding of space qualification standards and requirements.
• Experience designing custom electronics for space products and to a defined requirements set.
• Experience and understanding of PCB manufacturing and assembly processes; experience producing board layouts is a plus.
• Experience with analysis necessary for high‑reliability space electronics hardware (electrical stress analysis, worst‑case circuit analysis, reliability analysis).
• Experience leading sub‑assemblies or circuit card designs with small teams.
• Experience developing and conducting testing of complex electronic sub‑assemblies and design of special test equipment.
• Experience deriving sub‑assembly requirements from higher‑level system requirements and defining test methodologies.
• Experience developing design and verification documentation (ICDs, DDDs, test plans, procedures, reports).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to present designs.
• Ability to complete assigned work within a defined timeline and budget.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
