Job Description
The Material Scientist (OT) will execute and optimize internal gelation sol‑gel processes to consistently produce high-quality TRISO fuel, focusing on process repeatability and production performance. Responsibilities include designing experiments, monitoring process performance through characterization techniques, improving product quality tracking, and collaborating with engineering teams to ensure equipment alignment and successful commissioning. The role requires strong expertise in sol‑gel chemistry, reaction kinetics, and material characterization, along with demonstrated experience in process execution and quality evaluation in manufacturing or experimental environments.
Candidates should have nuclear fuel R&D or manufacturing experience, knowledge of QA standards, and a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field, with a minimum of eight years of experience and strong communication and multitasking abilities. This is on‑site 5 days a week. Salary ranges based on experience 80K-125K.
