Nuclear Surety Mechanical Engineer

The Opportunity

As a new mechanical engineer, you will apply engineering physics, mathematics, and materials science principles to analyze complex mechanical safety issues for Air Force weapon systems. Your work will support the Air Force in ensuring that weapon systems remain safe and secure in a dynamic environment.

As a mechanical engineer at Booz Allen, you will apply basic principles, theories, and concepts of analysis, solve routine problems of limited scope and complexity, and work under direct supervision.

You will learn about multiple weapon systems, both current and future and will impact the Air Force by identifying potential nuclear surety impacts on weapon systems. This is a chance to grow your general understanding of mechanical engineering in the defense world while gaining experience in weapon systems.

• Experience with analysis of mechanical systems in professional or academic environments
• Knowledge of fundamental mechanical engineering principles
• Ability to work in a close-knit team including client
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related mechanical field

• Experience designing mechanical systems
• Knowledge of ASME, ISO, or military mechanical engineering standards
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• TS/SCI clearance
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related mechanical field

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

The projected compensation range for this position is $55,300 to $126,000 annualized USD, depending on location, qualifications, and experience.

• Remote:
  You may be required to work in person at a Booz Allen or customer facility on occasion.
• Hybrid:
  You will be expected to work from a Booz Allen facility frequently, and may also be required to visit a customer facility.
• Onsite:
  Work will primarily be performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility.
