Summary The Space Development group delivers innovative technology solutions that help ensure our Nation achieves and maintains space superiority in a multi domain environment. We are seeking a Software Engineer to support the development of space combat power and multi domain simulation software. This role directly contributes to force structure planning, Digital Test and Training – Synthetic Environment efforts, Joint Combatant Command analysis and operations support, Space Force testing and training, and R&D for emerging space systems.
Final interview contingent on a technical coding assessment. What You Will Do
• Collaborate with the team using Confluence, Discourse, Git Lab, and Jira
• Perform code reviews and ensure high standards of software quality
• Present status updates and progress to leadership and customers
• Conduct multidisciplinary research in support of modeling and development goals
• Contribute to team vision discussions and simulation software architecture planning
• Design, develop, document, test, and debug space simulation software What You Must Have
• 0 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years relevant experience.
• Proficiency in C++
• Completion of a technical C++ coding challenge
• Understanding of compiling, linking, and debugging C++ applications
• Strong problem solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to excel in an agile, fast paced environment
• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance Preferred Requirements
• Python proficiency, including embedded Python applications
• Experience with constructive agent based, event driven modeling and simulation
• Basic space knowledge (e.g., coordinate systems, time, orbital propagation)
• Space domain awareness and/or space combat power knowledge
• Background in math or physics
• Experience in parallel software development
• Experience with in the U.S. or Allied space enterprise
