Join Sandia National Laboratories , a global leader in national security and technology innovation , as a Postdoctoral Researcher contributing to the advancement of additive manufacturing (AM) technologies for custom microelectronic systems. Be part of a mission-driven, interdisciplinary team focused on world-changing technologies with real-world impact.
Your Role- Lead experimental research in aerosol jet direct-write printing and other advanced manufacturing processes
- Innovate on techniques to create custom microsystems for defense and national security
- Collaborate with top engineers and scientists in a multidisciplinary research environment
- Publish findings, contribute to intellectual property, and present at national/international conferences
- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics , or related field (conferred within the last 5 years)
- Research background in additive manufacturing
- Eligibility for DOE Q-level security clearance (U.S. citizens only)
- Aerosol or spray printing with metal and dielectric inks
- CAD programming and fixture design
- AM system integration and custom tool maintenance
- Finite element analysis for mechanical/thermal modeling
- Electrical (e.g., network analyzers) and mechanical (e.g., profilometers) property testing
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Dedication to lab safety and technical innovation
