We are seeking a detail‑oriented Electrical Facilities Technologist to lead the coordination and execution of electrical power outages across the Sandia NM site, ensuring safety, efficiency, and minimal impact to mission‑critical operations.

- Coordinate and plan all electrical power outages across the Sandia NM site to ensure safe and efficient execution.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams including electrical and mechanical engineers, fire protection, security, and planning departments to align outage schedules and requirements.
- Develop, review, and maintain detailed outage procedures and switching memos to support safe and compliant power interruptions.
- Communicate proactively with building occupants, maintenance teams, and external service providers to minimize operational impact and maintain mission continuity.
- Monitor and track outage progress, promptly addressing any issues or changes to maintain schedule and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, site policies, and industry best practices during outage planning and execution.
- Facilitate post‑outage reviews and lessons learned sessions to continuously improve outage planning processes.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to outage planning, approvals, and execution.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
Salary Range$63,800 – $123,400. Actual salary will be determined after consideration of experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require- High school diploma plus three (3) or more years of directly related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience coordinating electrical outages and/or maintenance activities in a large, complex facility or industrial environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q‑level security clearance.
- Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
- Familiarity with electrical safety standards, switching procedures, and outage management processes.
- Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, safety personnel, security, and facility management.
- Strong organizational and communication skills demonstrated through managing schedules, writing technical procedures, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience with outage documentation, such as writing switching memos, procedures, and post‑outage reports.
- Prior experience in a mission‑critical or high‑reliability environment is a plus.
- Experience working in a facilities management and maintenance organization.
- Familiar with NNSA, DOE, or other federal government requirements.
- Knowledge of low, medium, and high voltage.
- Working knowledge and understanding in facilities engineering and construction as well as industry standard methodologies.
- Proven ability to initiate effective internal customer relationships.
- Ability to successfully plan, organize, lead, and monitor team efforts to completion as well as effectively prioritize and implement multiple high‑rigor tasks in a high‑pressure environment.
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q‑level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
