How will you make an impact?
Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental health and safety programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies at Nypro Inc.
What will you do?- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Conduct regular EHS inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues, recommending and tracking corrective actions.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
- Provide EHS training to employees on topics such as hazard communication, emergency preparedness, confined spaces, and lockout/tagout.
- Manage hazardous waste disposal programs and ensure proper handling, storage, and documentation of hazardous materials.
- Monitor air emissions, wastewater discharge, and other environmental parameters to ensure compliance with permits and regulations.
- Maintain accurate EHS records, reports, and documentation for regulatory compliance and internal tracking.
- Participate in EHS committee meetings and promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
- Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and conduct drills.
- Collaborate with various departments to integrate EHS considerations into operational processes and projects.
- BS/AS degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Occupational Health, or a related field a plus.
- 2-3 years of related Health/Safety Engineering experience.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant EHS regulations.
- Experience in helping develop and implementing EHS programs.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training skills.
- Ability to conduct EHS audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with Windchill program is a plus.
- Certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) are a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
