Position Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an Early Career Geologist, Engineer, or Environmental Scientist in our Albuquerque, New Mexico office to support a wide range of multidisciplinary projects in New Mexico and elsewhere while growing your career. The role will include supporting field efforts and office tasks on a variety of environmental investigation, characterization, remediation and monitoring projects for commercial, state and federal clients.
Responsibilities- Conduct field sampling of soil, groundwater, soil gas and other environmental media.
- Provide oversight of subcontractors including drillers.
- Support remediation projects including contaminated soil and hazardous waste sites.
- Operate and maintain field equipment.
- Follow sampling protocols including chain‑of‑custody procedures.
- Document field activities through logs, photos, and all types of field data.
- Assist in summarizing field activities, preparing technical reports and regulatory documentation.
- Adhere to and promote safety protocols.
Note:
This position will require overnight travel (approximately 40%) and additional same day travel to project sites.
- Experience executing environmental fieldwork.
- BA/BS degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related science.
- 2–5 years of experience.
- Strong data collection and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF and other standard business computer programs.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for extended rotations.
- Ability to pass background checks to support projects on military installations.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- GIT or EIT.
- OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER Certification and 8‑hour HAZWOPER supervisor.
- First Aid/CPR certifications.
- Mechanical aptitude.
$50,000 — $70,000 USD.
